  • Learning Objectives

    After participating in this program, the pharmacist should be able to:

    • Recognize changes in antifungal therapy based on etiology, incidence, diagnosis and treatment of invasive fungal pathogens.
    • Compare and contrast the spectrum, biopharmaceutical properties, and role of newer azoles and echinocandin antifungal agents versus established antifungal therapies.
    • Assess the strengths and limitations of current treatment approaches and guidelines for the management of invasive candidiasis and invasive mould infections.
    • Discuss combination therapy and other salvage antifungal strategies for patients who fail to respond to first-line antifungal agents.

Continuing Education Accreditation Information

Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences School of Pharmacy is approved by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Pharmacists successfully participating in this program will receive a statement of credit for one contact hour (0.1 CEU). Statements of Credit may be printed on-line after successful completion of the learning assessment (70%).
