This program provides for a basic overview of the etiology, pathophysiology and treatment of hemophilias A and B providing basic information necessary for the home health care pharmacist to care for persons affected by hemophilia.

    At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

    • Describe common sites of bleeding in hemophilia patients
    • Determine dosing for the treatment of site specific bleeds
    • Identify procedures requiring prophylactic intervention
    • Determine dosing for prophylactic intervention
    • Evaluate MASAC Guidelines for Emergency Department Management of Individuals with Hemophilia

Continuing Education Accreditation Information

Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences School of Pharmacy is approved by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Pharmacists successfully participating in this program will receive a statement of credit for one contact hour (0.1 CEU). Statements of Credit may be printed on-line after successful completion of the learning assessment (70%).
